The company has announced a new series of handhelds in its iPAQ line of Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices, covering from the entry-level to the top-of-the-line on the Pocket PC market. All these new Pocket PC use the Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software, capable of handling higher resolutions (where available) and landscape orientation.
The HP iPAQ hx4700 comes with integrated Infrared, Bluetooth and wireless LAN (wi-fi). Its Magnesium-alloy body contains a 624MHz Intel PXA270 processor. It comes with 64 MB SDRAM, 128 MB Strata Flash ROM, including up to 80 MB iPAQ File Store. The screen is a large 4" TFT LCD display with VGA (480x640) resolution, a touchpad with mouse like cursor, removable/rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery (1800mAh), SD and Compact Flash (CF II) slots.
In terms of size, the measures are (H x W x D) 5.17 x 3.03 x .59 in (131 x 77 x 14.9mm), 186.7g (6.6oz). It also comes with Pocket Informant 5.0 as part of the bundle.

The HP iPAQ rx3715 is one of the Mobile Media Companion Pocket PC. This line puts emphasis on the multimedia capabilities, including a 1.2 megapixel PhotoSmart digital camera with 4x digital zoom and capable of video recording (MPEG4, MPEG1), integrated Bluetooth and wireless LAN (wi-fi). The CPU is a 400 MHz Samsung S3C 2440 processor, and up to 152MB available to the user (including 96MB of iPAQ File Store). As part of the software package it comes with Ilium Software Dockware and Nevo Remote Control. It support SDIO through it SD slot.
The display is a TFT LCD QVGA (240 x 320) capable of showing 64k colours.

The HP iPAQ rx3415 is similar to the rx3715, but comes with 56 MB user available memory instead (including 4 MB iPAQ File Store on the model rx3415).

The HP iPAQ rz1715 is the entry level Pocket PC on this new series. It sports a 203 MHz Samsung S3C2410 processor and 32 MB Flash ROM/32 MB SDRAM. This model does not have Bluetooth or wireless LAN (wi-fi), but it comes with Infrared and SD (SDIO) slot.
