Posted on 4-Aug-2004 18:15 | Filed under: News

The association is holding an "IrDA Technology Day" in Shanghai, to lure developers and device manufacturers. The Technology Day will be held on 17 September 2004 at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. The IrDA Technology Day is open to all engineering professionals. The objective is to provide handheld design and development engineers with a basic understanding of IrDA technology. The leading IrDA hardware and software manufacturers as well as IrDA Authorized Test Labs will participate, giving presentations and product demonstrations. The meeting will be conducted in Mandarin. Attendees will learn just how simple it is to adopt IrDA for wireless communication and will meet IrDA experts who can help during the development process.

According to the association, IrDA is the world's leading peer-to-peer wireless communication technology. Its ease of use, low cost of implementation and secure method of transmission have made IrDA the 'must have' technology in handheld devices like Mobile Phones including Camera Phones and Smart phones, Notebook Computers and PDAs.
