Cingular Wireless and Yahoo! sign partnership
Cingular Wireless has announced that it has teamed with Yahoo! to offer a suite of instant-messaging, e-mail, mapping, games, news, and weather-information applications through Cingular's MEdia Net service. The availability of Yahoo! services will allow Cingular customers to take advantage of the latest wireless capabilities to stay even more connected, informed and mobile.

To use Yahoo!'s services, Cingular customers have to log in to the Yahoo! Web site from their wireless phones and they will be able to access their choice of Yahoo!'s content and application offerings, including:

  • Yahoo! Mail
  • Yahoo! Messenger
  • Local Info
  • Yahoo! Sports
  • Yahoo! News
  • Yahoo! Games

If customers have already set up their personal preferences on Yahoo!, such as local weather or stock portfolio settings, this information is automatically accessed from their wireless phones each time they log on to Yahoo! wirelessly.
