Sendo announces developer program
Sendo announced the opening of its new developer support programme at the 3GSM World Conference in Cannes, France.

"We have structured the developers support programme to reflect the phases that any developer will typically go through. At present we are offering developers: a software development kit (SDK); white papers; sample code; newsletter subscription; guidance on the best events to attend throughout the year; a glossary of technical terms, in addition to information on planned testing and go to market service, and this is just the start!" said Sander van der Meer, Senior Manager Applications, Software & Services.

Sendo intends to expand the developer programme's services to include a forum, email support, FAQ's, access to developer lab sessions, a verification service and a shop to purchase a Sendo's developer kit.

The ability of smartphones to run custom applications has opened the door to innovation in the mobile phone industry. Sendo believes that the number of high quality applications for smartphones will continue to grow steadily.

Sendo will be encouraging the development of applications in all areas and in many programming languages. At the launch of Sendo's Developers Programme, literature will be available providing guidance on how to develop applications in both C++ and J2ME - Java, with support for other programming languages expected.

To assist developers in producing quality applications, Sendo also plans to launch a testing and verification service. The service will be designed to confirm the integrity of third party applications offering confidence to end-users and operators. Details of this service will become available soon.
