Micro Software Inc. has announced the QuickLink Mobile Wi-Fi Seeker, a compact device that allows Wi-Fi users to search for the wireless access point in public Wi-Fi hotspot locations.
The QuickLink Mobile Wi-Fi Seeker eliminates the hassle of booting up a notebook computer to search for the nearest Wi-Fi access point. Simply point the device in any direction, push and hold the button down and wait for the sweeping red lights to remain lit to indicate a Wi-Fi signal has been found. The company says the QuickLink Mobile Wi-Fi Seeker can detect a wireless access point within 300 feet in less than one second and is not fooled by other radio-frequency emitting devices such as cordless phones, baby monitors and microwave ovens.
QuickLink Mobile Wi-Fi Seeker is directly available through Smith Micro for US$29.95.
