Vindigo providing traffic information via mobile phone

Vindigo Studios has launched Vindigo Traffic, a personalized traffic service for wireless subscribers provided by ATX, one of the largest providers of telematic services for the automotive industry.

Vindigo Traffic is a fully customizable service, including automated text alerts and continuously updated information. The subscription service also features estimated wait time for traffic jams and interactive color maps with flags marking delays caused by construction or accidents.

The new service offers an automatic text alert functionality. Subscribers can set the service to notify them via SMS with real-time information on traffic delays depending on their individual preferences. These options include designated routes, time of day, and three levels of alerts. Messages provide the cause and length of delays.
