Archos introduces the Gmini400 digital music player with colour screen
The Gmini400 is a hard-drive-based (20GB) digital audio player that features the a 2.2-inch color LCD screen and advanced features such as video playback, photo viewing and gaming. The device also comes with a built-in CompactFlash reader for transferring photos and data, and the ability to access and play games directly on the device. The company is offering optional adapters for SmartMedia, MMC, SD and Memory Stick cards.

It measures 4.2 inches by 2.4 inches by .07 inches and allows users to record up to 300 hours of music and play MP3, WMA and WAV music files. In addition, the Gmini400 gives consumers much more than a standard digital audio player, with the ability to store and view up to 200,000 digital photos, play Mophun games and play up to 80 hours of MPEG-4 videos (640x400 at 30 frames per second). There's an option for TV output as well.

The Gmini400 has a suggested retail price of US$399.95.
