Cathay Pacific Airways Limited has completed an enterprise-wide deployment of Intellisync Corporation's synchronization technology. Cathay Pacific is Intellisync's first Hong Kong-based enterprise customer, and one of the largest corporations in the Asia-Pacific market. Cathay Pacific's use of Intellisync's synchronization technology is intended to increase company-wide employee efficiency and productivity by enabling employees to sync Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds with Novell GroupWise, the company's standard groupware solution.
Cathay Pacific Airways is an industry leader whose stated vision is to be the most admired airline in the world. The airline flies to more than 85 destinations worldwide, carrying approximately one million passengers each month. One of the company's biggest needs was to bring Novell GroupWise data to PDAs in order to enable employees to take critical data with them, regardless of their location.
Hong Kong-based Synergy Technologies (Asia) Ltd. administered the sale of Intellisync software units to Cathay Pacific, where they saw a need for a solution that would enable the company to distribute critical information and provide increased access to e-mail and personal information management (PIM) data. Employees within every department at Cathay Pacific's headquarters and worldwide offices will now be able to synchronize calendar, contacts and tasks, bringing critical desktop information with them to the field.
