Pocket Informant to be pre-installed on new HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC
Web Information Solutions' Pocket Informant 5.0 Personal Information Manager (PIM) software package will be pre-installed on all new HP iPAQ hx4700 series Pocket PCs. The HP iPAQs were introduced in July. Pocket Informant improves the efficiency and visibility of calendar, contacts, tasks and appointment functions on handheld devices.

"The Web Information Solutions development team is thrilled that HP concluded that our Pocket Informant software was reliable enough to pre-load into its flagship iPAQ product," commented Alex Kac, president of Web Information Solutions. "We enjoyed the collaborative development process with HP that began many months ago, and we were confident that the results would yield many benefits to handheld customers."

The HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC includes a four-inch VGA color screen, integrated wireless capabilities, enhanced security and dual-slot expansion, providing high-end features. The HP iPAQ hx4700 series is also the first Pocket PC to offer a touchpad with a mouse-like cursor, making navigation simple and convenient. The four-inch VGA screen allows for easier viewing of business presentations, improving productivity both in and out of the office. Integrated WLAN 802.11b (Wi-Fi) enables high-speed wireless access to the Internet, e-mail and corporate data, while Bluetooth technology allows wireless communication with other Bluetooth devices.
