The new Sony Clie PEG-VZ90 is a Palm OS 5.2.1 based device, with the Sony Handheld Engine CPU running at 123MHz. It has a OLED display with 480x320 pixels, 64MB RAM (internal, 40MB available to user) and 128 MB RAM Internal Flash (95 MB available to user) and weighs 270g. The 3.8" screen can be used in landscape or portrait mode.
Thanks to a sliding mechanism which hides the usual Palm application keys, it can be used as a mini tablet (109 x 87 x 23 mm), or even on a special stand to keep it upright. It comes with a complete suite of multimedia applications, with extra buttons assigned to launch the movies (30FPS, MPEG4 and Quicktime), pictures and audio applications.
Access Netfront 3.1 and Clie Mail are part of the Internet software provided. The Sony Clie PEG-VZ90 supports wireless LAN (802.11b) and Memory Stick Pro. Picsel Viewer provides support for Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat files (viewer only).
