Before you continue with the update please check:
your PC is running Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98e, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.x, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
you have installed ActiveSync 3.6 which was supplied on the companion CD in your SPV box.
you have synchronised your SPV with your PC. You can do this using the SPV cradle or USB cable.

Will I lose my data when I upgrade?
The upgrade does not erase any of your stored data, this includes picture and wallpaper downloads, ringtones, games, contacts and calendar events. We recommend you back up your SPV using Orange Backup and/or active sync.
Does the update affect the menu structure on my SPV?
No, however Orange has added 2 new applications - Picture Manager and Sound Manager. These will now appear on the main menu and may change the original order.
What shall I do if my phone does not switch on or the screen freezes?
Remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace. Power on the handset.
If the handset only powers up to a screen which displays three colours, perform the following steps:
Remove the battery for 30 seconds again and replace. Place your SPV back into the cradle
The SPV should boot up and display three colours. Rerun the update program.
How do I know I have succesfully updated?
When you have powered up your SPV go to Programs, More, Settings, About your Operator ROM version should be 1.3.5.6, if you have sucessfully updated.
