GoodLink adds support for more devices
Posted on 19-Oct-2004 08:25 | Tags Filed under: News

Good Technology, Inc., is introducing the new release of GoodLink, its wireless messaging software, featuring support for HP iPAQ h6315, Samsung SPH-i700 and palmOne's Treo 600. It includes Wi-Fi connectivity, more Outlook features and a 3X increase in performance.

GoodLink on the HP iPAQ h6315 Pocket PC from T-Mobile enables users to switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi and GPRS networks to optimize data speed and coverage. Higher delivery speeds offered by Wi-Fi connectivity provide better, faster support for corporate information access and rich attachments. The enterprise-class security customers have come to rely on over GPRS and CDMA networks is now available over Wi-Fi with Good's robust security model -- including AES and handheld encryption, remote erase and remote password policy management.

GoodLink is now also available on the Samsung i700 Pocket PC, an all-in-one wireless device offered by Verizon Wireless that features the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system, a large color TFT screen, integrated swiveling digital camera and speakerphone. GoodLink and the Samsung i700 together provide a robust system for mobile professionals to work from anywhere and stay up to date with Microsoft Exchange applications from their handheld, leveraging Verizon's fast 1xRTT data network capable of speeds up to 144 kbps.

The company says GoodLink now delivers enterprise users a 3X boost in over-the-air sync speed and up to a 25 percent increase in battery life. Now featuring true multitasking and a significant number of productivity enhancing Outlook features, GoodLink offers more flexibility, management and power than ever. New features include:

  • Calendar Week View -- Allows users to access a snap-shot view of their weekly calendar.
  • Preview Pane for E-mail -- Enables users to quickly shift through e-mail lists to see whether e-mails need to be opened.
  • Flag for Follow Up -- Enhances management of e-mail messages on the handheld by offering flag icons as a reminder to follow up on an issue.
  • Reply/Forward Status Indicators -- Allows users to see which e-mails they have already replied to or forwarded to someone else.
  • Out of Office Assistant -- Enables mobile users to create and modify "Out of Office" messages from the handheld.
  • Expanded Auto text -- Improves usability by enabling users to better customize short cuts for commonly used words and phrases.

All of these features are wirelessly synchronized between the handheld and the Microsoft Exchange server, keeping information up to date both on the desktop and the device with no needed cradles or desktop software.
