Hot on the announcement of the new palmOne Treo 650, Visto Corporation has announced push e-mail support for the new smartphone based on the Palm OS. Visto Mobile is a wireless e-mail platform that provides instantaneous and automatic 2-way delivery of corporate and personal e-mail, contacts and calendar updates on 2.5G or 3G devices.
"Visto is committed to providing our Visto Mobile push email solution on the widest variety of operating systems, email platforms, and data networks," said Brian Bogosian, chairman, president and CEO of Visto Corporation. "We are seeing strong interest from global operators, partners and users for push-based mobile email/PIM solutions on devices that mirror phone and PDA functions, in a familiar format, and from the recognized leaders in the market. The push capabilities of Visto Mobile running on the Palm OS and on a device like the Treo 650 meets all these criteria."
