Opera Software and SlipStream Data partner to accelerate Opera Browser
Posted on 5-Nov-2004 11:44 | Tags Filed under: News

Opera Software and SlipStream Data announced the integration of the Opera browser with SlipStream's web and email acceleration technology. The companies say integrated solution enables ISPs to offer up to six times faster browsing on dial-up and wireless connections, as well as provides fast and secure access to critical data for mobile workers and organizations with limited bandwidth.

Opera's browser integration with the Slipstream software is planned for a not yet relase version 7.60, expected for the end of 2004.

"As Opera is known as the fastest browser on earth, the decision to consider the browser for this integration was simple," said Ron Neumann, president of SlipStream Data. "Our goal is to offer a superior accelerated browsing experience on any platform, including desktops, laptops, PDAs and smartphones, and Opera's multiplatform support helps achieve this. This integration gives ISPs increased support and speed for their users, and will also significantly increase the productivity of mobile workers. Such a partnership helps us continue to expand and embed our technology into new markets."

SlipStream acceleration technology is present on over 900 ISP partners worldwide. The company's acceleration technologies compress, optimize and streamline web content and emails, providing improvement in access speeds over any network.
