Samsung is using Flash Lite 1.1 to deliver graphical user interfaces and rich interactive experiences on new mobile handsets. The first Samsung handset enhanced with Flash Lite is available in Korea, other handsets will be available in other regions soon.
Flash Lite is a version of Macromedia Flash Player specifically developed for mobile phones so consumers can benefit from the power of interactive Flash experiences. Subsequent Samsung handsets with Flash Lite 1.1 will be deployed in Europe, U.S., and Korean markets.
"We are very proud to be working with Samsung who has become a global leader in mobile because of their focus on excellence in design," said Stephen Elop, CEO, Macromedia. "As Samsung mobile phones enter the marketplace with Flash Lite we look forward to working together to bring incredible new experiences to consumers around the world."
Samsung will use Flash MX Professional 2004 to help rapidly generate intuitive user interfaces and applications that can be easily deployed with Flash Lite 1.1 across handsets with differing operating systems, processors, browsers, and screen sizes.
