PalmSource and GSPDA Launch New Xplore M68 Smartphone in Europe
PalmSource, Inc. Group Sense PDA Limited (GSPDA), are announcing the new Palm Powered Xplore M68 smartphone. The smartphone from GSPDA will be showcased in the PalmSource booth during the 3GSM Congress, in Cannes.

Joining the existing Palm Powered Xplore G18, G88 and M28 smartphone product family, the Xplore M68 combines the Palm OS with wireless and multimedia features in a compact form factor. The Xplore M68 is now available through distributors in France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Pricing will be set by the individual distributors.

The Xplore M68 smartphone features:

  • Palm OS(R) Garnet (V5.4);
  • Bluetooth technology for communicating with headsets, car kits, computers and printers equipped with Bluetooth technology;
  • MP3 and MPEG4 for audio and video-capturing and playback;
  • 1.3 megapixel integrated camera;
  • ARM 9 OMAP 310 CPU, 32 MB RAM / 64 SDRAM flash memory;
  • 2.2-inch D-TFD 64K colors LCD screen;
  • SMS, MMS, WAP, email, Java support;
  • SD/MMC Card expansion;
  • One-handed navigation five-way jog dial.

    The Xplore M68 comes in two versions: tri-band GSM900/1800/1900MHz for the European market and tri-band GSM850/1800/1900MHz for the North American market. Both models are GPRS Class 10 devices.

    The rechargeable Lithium-Polymer battery (1300mAh) can deliver up to 5 hours talk time and 300 hours standby. The device weighs only 127g and measures 49.5 x 109 x 22.5 mm.
