Bluefire licenses RSA Security's BSAFE encryption software

Posted on 15-Feb-2005 08:03 | Filed under: News

Bluefire Security Technologies has partnered with RSA Security to provide Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 Level 1 encryption protection for its mobile security products based on RSA Security's BSAFE encryption software.

RSA Security's BSAFE encryption software allows Bluefire to offer government-validated encryption capabilities across its product line including the only commercially available virtual private network (VPN) designed specifically for mobile devices with FIPS 140-2 Level 1 encryption. FIPS certification is required for processing and storing sensitive government data and is also used as a standard by many commercial enterprises.

RSA BSAFE encryption, signature and privacy solutions for the enterprise secure business-critical applications in support of regulatory requirements common in healthcare and financial industries and facilitate the consistent implementation of corporate IT security rules and policies on mobile devices. The union of Bluefire Technologies' Mobile Security Suite(TM) with RSA's BSAFE encryption provides customers with the most secure data environment available for mobile handheld devices including Windows Mobile Pocket PC.
