Mobile security solutions for Windows Mobile
Dangaard Telecom and BullGuard have announced their partnership to offer BullGuard Mobile, security software for Pocket PCs and smartphones, in all 15 markets where Dangaard operates.

BullGuard has announced the release of BullGuard Mobile for Microsoft Mobile Pocket PC just before making the partnership punlic. The application features an on-access scanner monitoring all communication ports in addition to automatic Over-The-Air updates.

BullGuard will shortly release similar products for Windows Mobile SmartPhone, Symbian Series 60 & 80 and Symbian UIQ mobile operating systems.

Morten Lund, CEO of BullGuard stated: "Using Pocket PCs and smartphones is all about connectivity and convenience - that doesn't blend very well with security threats. People should be able to use mobile devices, with a minimum of fuss, without being concerned about harmful content. We have seen the first viruses for mobile devices and Dangaard Telecom have chosen to lead the way by placing BullGuard Mobile in the middle of their drive to make security a key differentiator in the marketplace."

The BullGuard Mobile for Pocket PC includes the following features:

  • Malicious code protection for downloads, SMS, MMS, Email, WiFi, Bluetooth, and IR connections
  • Device-resident on-access scanner continuously scanning all ports
  • On-demand antivirus scanner
  • Automatic threat response and threat notification
  • Auto-deletion of infected files
  • Security event logging
  • Optimization to preserve device and network performance
  • Automatic and up-to-date virus definitions via HTTP over GPRS/EDGE/WiFi/UMTS
  • Over-The-Air Wireless installation
