BSQUARE has developed and tested a production-quality Board Support Package (BSP) for the AMD Alchemy DBAu1200 development board from AMD. The new BSP supports the Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 operating system for the DBAu1200, allowing product designers to focus on the development of mobile media devices and applications, allowing developers to get AMD Alchemy Au1200 processor-based portable media products to market faster and at a lower cost.
A Board Support Package is a set of files that can be customized to run an operating system on specific board architectures. This valuable tool allows developers to begin the project with a fully functioning operating system running on their hardware platform. BSQUARE's BSP for the AMD Alchemy DBAu1200 development board includes Windows CE bootloader and OAL source code; peripheral drivers, DMA controller, and network support source code; and documentation for all custom APIs. BSQUARE also offers Windows Mobile and Embedded development tools and professional services such as training, support and consulting.
"The new Windows CE 5.0-based board support package for the AMD Alchemy Au1200 processor from BSQUARE will help our joint customers save time when developing their solutions," said Jane Gilson, director for the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. "As a Gold-level Windows Embedded Partner, BSQUARE provides innovative and efficient solutions for developers, enabling them to utilize the power and flexibility of Windows CE and enhance the value of hardware platforms."
BSQUARE's Windows CE 5.0 BSP for the AMD Alchemy DBAu1200 development board will be available 31 March 2005 for free download from the company's website.
