T-Mobile Germany and Danger to launch Sidekick II
Danger, Inc. is announcing that its hiptop technology will be available soon through T-Mobile Germany as the T-Mobile Sidekick II. The agreement marks another milestone for Danger: with over 27.5 million subscribers, T-Mobile Germany is the largest operator yet to partner with Danger.

Branded as the T-Mobile Sidekick II, the device features a flip-up display that reveals a full QWERTY keypad (QWERTZ for Germany). Features include a mobile phone, push email, instant messaging, HTML Web browser, text-messaging, calendar, address book, an integrated digital camera and a catalog with additional applications and content. Each user account also includes a Web-based service where an end user can access and manage his or her data and applications from the convenience of a Web-enabled computer.

The T-Mobile Sidekick II wireless solution includes device designs manufactured by Sharp Corporation, development platform to support third party application development and a thin client/server software system called the hiptop Service Delivery Engine (SDE). The SDE manages the secure transmission of data between the network and the device, speeding Web-page downloads, opening files in email automatically for users, and delivering additional seamless benefits to dramatically improve the user experience.
