The new version of Skype for the Windows Mobile Pocket PC platform brings the capability to receive phone calls from POTS (Plain Old Telephone System), i.e. landlines and mobile phones. The service is called SkypeIn, and numbers must be purchased from the Skype Store. Users can select numbers from France, Hong Kong, United Kingdom and United States.
This update also brings the ability to users to leave Skype Voicemail, managed a centralised Contacts list and adds support for high resolution (VGA) display. Support for German and French is also added.
It also adds the Exit option, which gives users more flexibility to manage memory on the device, since most Pocket PC programs do not offer this feature, rather relying on the OS to perform memory management functions.
Skype for Pocket PC works on any PDA running MS Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC software with a 400 MHz XScale processor and equipped with WiFi. A headset is recommended.
