Sygate developing solutions for Windows Embedded for Point of Service
Posted on 3-May-2005 00:20 | Tags Filed under: News

Sygate Technologies, provider of network access control (NAC) solutions including personal and enterprise firewall software, will be the first security vendor to deliver a product for the Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service platform. The Windows Embedded for Point of Service is an industry-specific software platform providing plug-and-play functionality that will enable retailers to install and manage peripherals such as scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers and magnetic stripe readers.

Having already delivered a robust security solution for Windows XP Embedded, Sygate is delivering "Compliance on Contact", a complete information protection process that automates the discovery, protection, enforcement, and remediation of all network-connected devices.

Sygate's solution for Windows Embedded for Point of Service will allow retailers to leverage its security technology to protect against business interruption and lost revenues caused by compromised point-of-service systems, ensuring any point-of-service devices running on Windows Embedded for Point of Service have continuous protection against misuse, malicious access and misconfiguration.
