Alienware, a manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center and professional computing systems, announced the availability of the new Alienware Aurora: Star Wars Edition, the first officially licensed Star Wars PC. Aurora: Star Wars Edition systems are based on AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processors and packed with exclusive Star Wars content such as desktop skins, fan club membership, and movie soundtrack samples. The systems are available in two versions, Dark Side and Light Side, which feature Star Wars artwork on the cases.
The Dark Side version of the Aurora: Star Wars Edition system features a case design that captures the imposing presence of Darth Vader and the rest of the evil Imperial forces. Showcasing an equally impressive case design, the Light Side system displays images of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Luke Skywalker and the other heroic figures of the Star Wars galaxy in full action. The Light Side system further enhances the Star Wars experience by including a unique Jedi wallpaper and desktop skin, while the Dark Side system counters with an exclusive Imperial wallpaper and desktop skin.
Both versions of the Aurora: Star Wars Edition come bundled with items such as free membership to the official online Star Wars fan club, Hyperspace, and Sony Star Wars Video Journey samples, which include sample music from the movie soundtrack.
Powered by an AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processors, Aurora: Star Wars Edition systems also feature NVIDIA SLI graphics technology and PCI Express technology.
