DataViz, Inc. is making its mobile Office suite, 164691 Documents To Go, available for Sony Ericsson P800/P900/P910 smartphones. DataViz has extended the product line to now offer owners of these Sony Ericsson series of smartphones the ability to use, edit and create actual Microsoft Word and Excel files as well as view PowerPoint files.
Developed for the Symbian UIQ platform and specifically for Sony Ericsson P800/P900/P910 smartphones, this new edition is also the first to incorporate DataViz’
InTact Technology. This technology ensures complete document integrity when Microsoft Office files are opened and edited by users on mobile platforms, eliminating the need for conversion or desktop computer synchronization. Any edits will be merged with a file’s existing formatting to create an updated document that can be e-mailed or exchanged with others directly from the smartphone.

The company says that Mobile Office solutions currently available on the market either offer a view-only solution for Office files or are unable to maintain all file
formatting when edits are made to those files in a mobile environment, compromising their usefulness. From files that contain common formatting attributes such as embedded graphics to those with advanced features such as footnotes, endnotes and comments, all formatting unique to each document will be maintained regardless of changes made to the file on these Sony Ericsson series of smartphones.

"As a leading supplier of software and hardware related to smartphones and PDAs, we recognize the increasing need for enterprise-quality business solutions that enhance end-user productivity and provide access to critical data and files," said Claes Bäck, CEO, of Datanät in Sweden. "We are pleased to see DataViz bring their industry leading mobile Office suite, Documents To Go, to the Symbian platform."

In addition to InTact Technology for Word and Excel files, Documents To Go boasts a number of key features designed to help users quickly locate information and effortlessly make edits and create new documents. These include support for embedded images and tables in Word files, ability to view and edit existing comments, footnotes and endnotes in Word files.
The support the most commonly-used Excel functions, the five-way Jog Dial, tap scrolling, and full-screen views. DataViz To Go also provides TrueType font support.
