Solar powered Bluetooth GPS uses very low power
Ftech is introducing several new GPS receivers with high performance GPS antenna. One of the new models is the Solar Battery Bluetooth GPS Receiver, which offers 20 hours when working with its internal battery, or 30 hours when working together with the solar panels. The Solar Battery panel can recharge the internal Li-ion battery while the unit is not in use.

The unit measures 55(W)x103(L)x22(H) mm and supports the NMEA0183 GGA, GSA, GSV, RMC protocols (WGS84 datum).

Ftech promisses 8-12 sec. average for hot start, less than 42 seconds average for warm start and around 120 seconds for a cold start. Reacquisition time is expected to be around 100ms. The Bluetooth adapter has a range of 10m (Class 2).
