T-Mobile Germany is making the T-Mobile Sidekick II available in Germany. The mobile Internet handset developed by Danger Inc. and manufactured by Sharp Corporation will be available for EUR99.95 (US$125.50) with a service contract. For EUR15 (US$18.84) a month, users will get unlimited data use when combined with any of T-Mobile's voice plans.
Danger's hiptop wireless solution is the software and services infrastructure behind the T-Mobile Sidekick II. This client/server system manages the secure transmission of data between the network and the device, speeds Web-page downloads, allows attachment files in email, and delivers a set of tightly coupled applications that operate simultaneously.
Features include a mobile phone, push email, instant messaging, HTML Web browser, text-messaging, calendar, address book, an integrated digital camera and a catalog with downloadable applications and content. In addition, each user receives access to a Web-based, online account to manage all of his or her data from a desktop computer.
