Lexar releases cheaper MP3 player
Lexar Media, Inc. is launching the LDP-200, a compact digital music player that provides unlimited music storage using SD memory cards.

The player is one of the few portable music devices on the market that uses SD memory cards to store and manage portable music collections and playlists. The LDP-200 also doubles as an SD card reader, making it a handy data transfer device.

The LDP-200 joins Lexar's line of digital music players supporting both MP3 and WMA music formats. The LDP-200 comes in a slim, pocket-sized design and is compatible with Microsoft Windows Media DRM for playback of downloaded songs from on-line music services.

The new model is available in a standalone version without an SD Card at a suggested retail price of US$49.99 as well as versions with 256MB, 512MB and 1GB bundled with SD Cards, at suggested retail prices of US$89.99 and up.
