OQO is making the OQO model 01 availabler through eXpansys, a specialist distributor of mobile technology. The US version of the OQO model 01 will be available on-line to customers in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
“We are excited to introduce the OQO model 01 to the international market,” said Roger Butterworth, Group Managing Director of Mobile and Wireless Group Ltd (incorporating eXpansys). “This breakthrough ultra personal computer is a must-have for mobile professionals and enterprise users, and we are thrilled to bring it to a broader market.”
The OQO model 01 is a full-power, full-featured Windows XP PC that fits in the pocket. Docked at a desk, connected to an external monitor and keyboard, the model 01 is no different from an ultraportable notebook, but at 14oz users can take all their applications and data wherever they go.
The ultra portable computer (UPC) is powered by a 1GHz Transmeta Crusoe CPU, comes with 256MB RAM, 20GB HDD and run Microsoft Windows XP. Its 5 inch screen provides 800x480 pixels. A sliding thumb keyboard is available, and the OQO can connect to wireless LAN, Bluetooth and FireWire devices.
