T-Mobile Germany releases StarMoney Mobile 2.0 for Pocket PC and Smartphone
With StarMoney Mobile 2.0, T-Mobile Deutschland promises to turn the PDA or smartphone ino a mobile finance center. The software allows users to check the current balance of bank accounts, inquiry current entries and make transfers between accounts.

The software works over the GPRS connection, and can be used while in Germany or overseas, providing data roaming is available. Current transaction data from several accounts can be quickly retrieved and saved on the device. The program offers a detailed overview of the status of all accounts including transaction details. Transactions can be prepared in offline mode by entering the information into a digital transfer form, and a data connection is established when the data is ready to be exchange with the banks' servers.

An encryption system is used for the data transfer, and all data saved on the mobile phone is protected from unauthorized access.

The StarMoney Mobile 2.0 service allows users to access accounts from the Volksbanken, Raiffeisenbanken, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank and HypoVereinsbank.

An up-to-date list of supported institutes can be found on T-Mobile's website. The service requires registration for online banking at the bank or savings bank in question.

StarMoney Mobile 2.0 can be downloaded for trial for 30 days at no extra cost for the software. After the trial, T-Mobile customers can activate the software if desired. For the mobile-phone version of the program, this is a one-off price of EUR 7.90, for the PDA version EUR 19.90.

Currently StarMoney Mobile 2.0 is available with Symbian-based Nokia 6600, 6630, 6680 and 7610, Motorola E398, SonyEricsson P900, P900i, P910, P910i, and Windows Mobile based SDA, SDA music, MDA, MDA II, MDA III as well as MDA compact.
