HP iPAQ hw6510 Mobile Messenger goes on sale with T-Mobile Germany
Mobile operator is now selling the new iPAQ Mobile Messenger Pocket PC Phone Edition to business customers. The new Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition is avalable at selected IT specialized dealers as part of the T-Mobile "Take-Away" promotion.

This offer is aimed at business customers. The Take-Away package includes an inactive SIM card as well as the necessary documentation to enter into a contract with the operator.

The HP iPAQ hw6510 Mobile Messenger works on GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks and includes an integrated keyboard, GPS, and multiple messaging capabilities. It runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Software Phone Edition, based on an Intel PXA270 CPU at 312 MHz. Users have 64 MB ROM (12MB as a flash storage are) and 64 MB SDRAM with up to 56 MB available. Memory can be expanded through SD (SD/IO supported) and miniSD slots.

The OS includes Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Voice Recorder, Notes, Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, Pocket Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player 10, Inbox, Microsoft Reader, File Explorer.

The mobile-phone card is preset with the BusinessActive call tariff and the Data 5 data option. To activate the PDA the buyer simply fax a completed order form and a copy of an ID card to T-Mobile. After successful credit assessment, the SIM card is then activated within a few hours. The Take-Away contract is valid for 24 months with a monthly BusinessActive basic price of 7.95.

The Data 5 data option preset for Take-Away offers an inclusive volume of 5MB (megabytes) per month for national mobile data communications. The offer is also available with palmOne Treo 650 smartphones.
