Handango hosts Partner Summit

Handango has announced the commencement of the fifth-annual Handango Partner Summit this week in Miami, Florida, from 22-24 June. This invite-only event gathers together the top 200 mobile independent software developers (ISVs), leading handset manufacturers, top wireless operators and industry influencers from around the world to explore the future of the mobile content downloads market. Microsoft, Sony Ericsson, Nokia and the Microsoft Tablet PC Team are the headline sponsors of this year's event. Additional sponsors include Alltel, BenQ, BlackBerry, PalmSource, Sprint, Symbian, Telstra, TELUS Mobility, UIQ Technology and Verizon Wireless.

The 2005 Handango Partner Summit features in-depth presentations from leading OEMs and carriers, networking sessions, hands-on workshops, developer demos and small-group peer sessions. Attendees will also hear from Handango executives and an industry analyst. Kicking off this year's event is Strategy Analytics' Director of Wireless Internet Applications, Phil Taylor, who will set the pace of the event by providing an overview of the market.

Other keynote speakers include John Dietz, Group Manager, MSFT Mobile Embedded Devices, Microsoft; Gregor Bleimann, Head of Enterprise Solutions, Sony Ericsson; George Linardos, Sr. Business Development Manager, Branded Content, Nokia; Frank Gocinski, Microsoft Mobile Platforms Division, ISV Business Development and Evangelism Manager, Microsoft Tablet PC Team.

Additional speakers include Geoff Preston, Symbian's Technology Operations Director; Aaron Brown, RIM's Retail Product Marketing Manager; Joseph Johnson, Alltel's Staff Manager - Product Marketing; and Larry Berkin, PalmSource's Director of Developer Marketing.

At the Handango Partner Summit, Handango will honor the best in mobile software with the Handango Champion Awards, presented during a special Thursday-evening event on a private yacht. The award finalists were nominated by customers and are judged by a selection of industry experts and members of the media. Winners will be announced to the public on Friday, June 24, 2005.
