Everyone knows HP released an updated ROM 1.10 for the iPAQ H395x that caused clock problems. Everyone knows the fix is a patch or another updated ROM 1.11, but apparently HP thinks this is nothing to worry about.
Interesting thing is, the update ROM is available since Feb 18th, but the "Alert" e-mail was only sent today Mar 5th. The late "Alert" referred to an article with this text:
"After applying the iPAQ H3950 and H3955 Pocket PC ROM Update (v1.10), the clock speed on your iPAQ will decrease to 300 MHz from the original 400 MHz.
Typically, you will not notice a large performance decrease on your device. But, this issue will be evident if you use a 3rd party application that displays the processor performance or a benchmarking application."
All right... The user buys a 400Mhz device, and after an update it runs at 75% of the original speed, and this is "not noticeable". It's only bad if the user knows it's slow !
