Vendex International Ltd. is launching EpyxMobile. The software allows users to place calls from their mobile phones to other Skype users and phones.
The software works by connecting a mobile phone using the handsfree profile Bluetooth connection through the user's PC to the Skype network. The software works with selected mobile phones from Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, and Siemens.
The user's PC must be using the Widcomm software with support for Audio Gateway.
EpyxMobile is available in a Free version which allows the user to interact with the Skype client and place calls over the service, including SkypeOut calls if the user utilises this service.
The subscription-based EpyxMobile Pro version extends the functionality by making the mobile phone able to receive Skype calls (either the free ones or SkypeIn). Using EpyxMobile Pro all calls coming into a SkypeIn number can be directed to a mobile phone so users can have a permanent landline phone number in a country of choice but receive the calls on a mobile phone when connected to a PC via Bluetooth.
