Critical Path and Adamind integrates MMS to desktops

Posted on 19-Jul-2005 22:25 | Filed under: News

Critical Path, Inc. and Adamind are announcing the integration of Adamind MediaSpire with Critical Path's Memova Mobile consumer mobile email solution, enabling the seamless exchange of multimedia email messages between mobile phones and PCs.

Adamind's real-time media content adaptation technology seamlessly transcodes AMR and 3GPP file formats generated by a mobile handset to PC-friendly WAV, MP3 and AVI files, enabling Memova Mobile users to send and receive multimedia emails using standard mobile phones. By embedding Adamind MediaSpire, Memova Mobile enables consumers to exchange multimedia-rich email messages and providing operators with a new way to drive MMS usage.

The software works with MMS-enabled mobile phones many consumers are already using, requiring no additional software or hardware upgrades. With Memova Mobile, email messages sent to email services, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! or Gmail, are pushed to the user's mobile phone. As a result of integrating Adamind MediaSpire, users are able to receive and view multimedia content and respond by voice to emails received on the phone.

Voice responses are recorded as AMR files and sent as WAV file email messages, eliminating the need to type responses on phone keypads. Critical Path's Memova Mobile solution provides consumers with a rich mobile email experience and helps operators to grow data revenues by leveraging consumer desires to share multimedia content via email.
