The Vodafone Group Plc has announced key performance indicators for all its operations worldwide for the quarter ended 30 June 2005 with 8.6% increase in revenue on year and 4.1 million new customers for the quarter.
Total proportionate customer base for the whole Vodafone group is now over 165 million, representing organic growth of 12.3% year on year, and including an additional 6 million customers added in Romania and the Czech Republic through the closing of the TIW transaction.
The company is reporting a total of 3.3 million 3G devices, with 2.9 million being consumer devices.
Arun Sarin, Chief Executive of Vodafone, commented “We have seen strong performances across Europe and in the US, and we continue to focus on improving our business in Japan. 3G is building momentum with over one million more registered devices in the quarter.
Vodafone says that overall these performance indicators are in line with the expectations.
At the closing of the Q2 2005 Vodafone New Zealand reported 1.929 million customers, with 78% of these using prepaid connections. This number represents an additional 38,000 customers in the quarter. ARPU for prepaid connections in New Zealand was NZ$326, while postpaid customers generate NZ$1726. Overall the ARPU for Vodafone New Zealand is NZ$625.
