Socket Communications launches Go Wi-Fi! E300 for Windows Mobile 2003 Devices
Socket Communications, Inc. has announced the Go Wi-Fi! E300 Card, designed for Windows Mobile 2003 devices with SDIO Now! interface.

The Socket Go Wi-Fi! E300 is the smallest 802.11b SDIO Wi-Fi card currently available. It includes Socket’s Wi-Fi Companion software application, an intuitive graphical utility that enables users to easily find, connect and manage favorite Wi-Fi networks

Socket’s Go Wi-Fi! E300 card with Wi-Fi Companion software makes Wi-Fi connection and management easy and includes the following capabilities:

  • Finds available Wi-Fi networks and performs advanced features such as network ping and trace route functions
  • Automatic Power Saving Mode balances battery life and throughput speed
  • Enterprise class Wi-Fi certification with hardware level encryption WPA2 (AES) support
  • Supports open, 40/64 and 128-bit WEP encryption, 802.1x authentication with EAP-TLS or PEAP is supported on Windows Mobile 2003
  • Supports WPA and WPA-PSK on the Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition as well as on the original WM 2003 with ROM upgrade (some devices)
  • Supports infrastructure WLAN and Ad Hoc peer-to-peer connectivity
  • Supports wireless ActiveSync
  • LED on the card shows WLAN connection status
  • Supports voice over Wi-Fi feature with Skype software
