Skweezer Brings Desktop Search Engines to Mobile Devices
Greenlight Wireless Corporation has update its Skweezer service to provide a customizable search feature that allows users to choose between several popular search engines. Skweezer optimizes Web content for cell phones and PDAs by formatting web pages for the small screen and bandwidth.

Skweezer customers can now search the Web from a mobile device using search engines designed for the desktop environment, such as Google, Y! Search, MSN, Looksmart, and Ask Jeeves. Skweezer reformats and optimizes search result pages, so they load faster and can be viewed more easily on a small display. Switching between search engines can be done using a drop-down menu or, if the user has signed up for a free personalized account, a default search engine can be set as a preference.

Mobile Internet users access Skweezer by visiting the portal and using it as a gateway to browse and search the Web. Skweezer compresses and reformats content being downloaded, so that it loads faster and looks better on small devices. The service includes an e-mail client, RSS reader, address book, site directory, and other features designed specifically for the mobile environment.

Skweezer is platform independent and can be accessed from Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone, Palm, XHTML-based cell phone, and WebTV devices.
