Telecom New Zealand 3 Minute Hour for Mobile Phones

Posted on 23-Aug-2005 19:11 | Filed under: News

Telecom New Zealand is launching a new promotion for its prepaid customers dramatically cutting the cost of calls. The 3 minute hour lets Telecom prepaid 027 customers call any Telecom mobile phone or landline in New Zealand and talk for up to 60 minutes and only pay for 3 minutes.

This special Telecom promotion applies until the end of 2005 and will apply on weeknights from 7pm to 7am and all weekend from 7pm Friday to 7am Monday.

“This will do for Telecom 027 prepaid calling what NZ$10 TXT did for texting [SMS] in New Zealand, by giving new freedom to talk more,” said Telecom General Manager of Mobile Kevin Kenrick.

The first three minutes are charged at the normal customer’s rate, then we stop the clock for 57 mins; any further minutes incurred after the hour has expired are charged at the standard mobile calling rates for the customer’s particular calling plan.

Customers can potentially save over NZS$50 on a call of one hour depending on their plan. Telecom 027 prepaid customers will automatically benefit from the 3 minute hour promotion.
