OQO Reveals Model 01+
OQO ha announced an update to its ultra personal computer, the OQO model 01+. The new model comes with upgraded specs, new features and additional accessories but all packed in the same 14 ounce pocketable design as its predecessor.

In addition to upgraded memory, larger hard drive, and faster USB, the model 01+ incorporates an internal speaker and improved pen-based digitizer. The model 01+ now ships with a new universal power supply which adds support for airplane and automobile DC power outlets.

"The OQO WiFi-enabled model 01 introduced last October was the first computer to make Windows XP a truly mobile experience. Everyone from prosumers on-the-go with Microsoft Office suite to field workers performing onsite data collection or accessing secure corporate networks wonder how they got along before the increased productivity that comes with a real PC that actually fits in your pocket," said Jory Bell, OQO's CEO. "Today's introduction of the model 01+ brings our customers more memory, more features and more performance in the same amazingly small package and all for the same price as the original model 01."

OQO also introduces today several new accessories including a VGA adapter, battery charging adapter, and stronghold hard-anodized metal case all compatible with both model 01+ and model 01 computers.

The computer is based on an 1GHz processor, comes with a new shock-mounted 30GB hard drive, 512MB RAM in a form factor measuring 4.9" x 3.4" x .9" and weighing 14 ounces. The 5" WVGA display can show images with resolution of 800x480 pixels, and its driven by a 3D accelerated graphics engine with 8MB RAM video.

OQO Model 01+ connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and FireWire (1394). The pen-based digitized is based on a Wacon design.

It now supports screen rotation and the battery can power the device for up to three hours, depending on usage.

The OQO model 01+ is now available from US$1899 and can be purchased on-line, or by calling OQO sales. The original model 01 remains available with prices starting at US$1499.
