F-Secure Introduces Antivirus Support for Windows Mobile

Posted on 12-Oct-2005 10:06 | Filed under: News

F-Secure Corporation is extending the support for its F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus to the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system, covering both Pocket PC and Smartphone platforms. At the same time, Symbian Series 80 users will also get a new product called F-Secure Mobile Security, which contains a mobile firewall alongside antivirus-functionality.

The F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus scans all files when they are saved, copied, downloaded, synchronized or otherwise modified. The software automatically scans all files on memory cards and when an infected file is detected, it is immediately quarantined.

With this latest release now in place, F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus is available for Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 and 2003 Second Edition Pocket PC Phone Edition, covering devices such as Qtek 9090, T-Mobile MDA III, Qtek 2020, Qtek S100 and MDA Compact as well as T-Mobile branded devices MDA II, MDA III and MDA Compact. F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus supporting Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 and 2003 Second Edition for Smartphones Edition covers such devices as Motorola MPx 220, Qtek 8200, Qtek 8010, Qtek 8020, T-Mobile SDA, Qtek 8100 and SDA Music as well as T-Mobile branded devices MDA II, MDA III and MDA Compact.

F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus has been available for most Symbian Series 60, Symbian Series 80 and Symbian Series 90 devices since the introduction of the first Symbian-operating devices. The latest Symbian additions also support Nokia N70, N90 as well as Panasonic X700 and X800 smartphones.
