Taiwan-based Company to Develop Skype Enabled Mobile Phone

Posted on 8-Nov-2005 23:15 | Filed under: News

Accton Technology is teaming with Skype to develop a range of Skype-enabled devices to be offered to Accton’s global OEM customers.

One of the first global vendors to do so, Accton will begin embedding Skype technology into an array of standalone devices to enable consumers and business users to take advantage of the free and low-cost calling options offered by Skype - without a PC.

The first such product is the WiFi SkyFone WM1185-T, the world's first mobile phone which can be used to make Internet calls independent of any computer.

Both organisations will continue to work together in the future to deliver other Skype embedded products.
