TELUS Mobility and Palm Canada are making the Palm Treo 650 smartphone available to mobile users in that country. The Treo 650 is a compact, full-featured mobile phone with email, messaging and web capabilities. It also combines all the functionality of a Palm OS organizer and includes Bluetooth support, a digital camera that can capture still images and video and MP3 player.
The Treo 650 offers a higher-resolution screen when compared with its previous model, the Treo 600. It also improves multimedia capabilities, comes with a removable battery, non-volatile memory, an improved backlit keyboard, and support for direct corporate email access to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 using VersaMail email software.
The non-volatile memory prevents data being lost in case of a battery failure.
"The Palm Treo 650 is a powerful addition to TELUS Mobility's portfolio of innovative mobile communications solutions for our business clients across Canada," said Wade Oosterman, TELUS Mobility's executive vice president of Sales and Marketing. "The Treo 650 offers the look and feel of a conventional phone while delivering the power and functionality of a truly multifunctional mobile business solution."
"The Treo 650 smartphone provides TELUS Mobility's clients with increased mobility while simplifying the way they manage their work and personal lives," said Michael Moskowitz, general manager, America's International, Palm, Inc. "Whether it's reading email, viewing a presentation, making a conference call or simply listening to music, the Treo 650 helps people become more connected and productive than ever before."
