Skype have just introduced new version of its Voice Over IP (VoIP) program for Windows Mobile Pocket PC.
The new version is now explicitly compatible with cellular networks (3G and EDGE) and Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi).
This version is also compatible with newer Windows Mobile 5.0 devices and existing Pocket PCs based on Windows Mobile 2003.
Other changes include the release in two flavours: one compatible with faster processors running at 400MHz or more, and one optimised for use with slower processors running at 312MHz or less. There is still a restriction on devices running at 300MHz with an external Wi-Fi card.
Skype 1.20 now supports landscape mode and support for 240x240 and 480x480 screens.
Users will be able to download and install the application with Danish, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese Brazil, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish versions. The language is automatically selected depending on regional settings of the device.
Some bugs were fixed, including rejected incoming calls failing to be sent to voice mail, and problems when installing skup on external storage.
