Comverse Introduces 3G Mailbox Version 2.0

Posted on 13-Feb-2006 23:26 | Filed under: News

Comverse has announced the availability of an enhanced version of 3G Mailbox, a unified, network-based mailbox for the storage and management of voice, video, and fax messages.

The platform features a visual user interface (UI), delivering a multimedia-rich experience for message management, stimulating 3G usage for day-to-day message retrieval.

For the operator 3G Mailbox helps increase subscriber ARPU and loyalty, while encouraging further usage of 3G services in the future.

Comverse says that for professionals on the go, listening to numerous voicemail prompts, and extraneous call details can be time consuming and tedious. The 3G Mailbox transforms the voicemail experience, enabling subscribers to view their mailbox menu in real time, as well as easily browse and manipulate messages.

3G Mailbox's talking heads option creates a lip-synched, graphical image of each message sender. With this latest version, subscribers are able to personalize and group their avatars, turning the message retrieval process into a full visual 3G experience. 3G Mailbox also can be bundled with other advanced video services, thereby encouraging greater 3G usage over time.

The platform requires no installation on 3G handsets, and it is powered by Comverse's InSight Open Services Environment. InSight core components, such as voice ports, message and subscriber profile stores, and management services, are shared across services, reducing costs and speeding deployments.
