Seattle-based Onskreen is releasing a software for Symbian S60 smartphones that lets users customise the home screen of mobile devices providing one-click access to selected content.
With Onskreen, operators can create their own channel of content on the main screen of subscriber's devices and market new services as they are released.
Indian mobile operator Airtel is the first company to use Onskreen technology to serve content to subscribers' mobile phones. The Fusion solution also lets operators remotely manage the content and experience on the device.
Without disrupting normal usage of the device, Fusion enhances the idle screen so users can preview content and snippets of the latest information like news headlines, stock quotes, and the operator download catalog. And with one button press, Fusion will direct the user to the source of the content whether it's a web page, local client installed on the device, email, or even Instant Messenging application.
