SplashData, Inc. has announced the appointment of Morgan Slain as its president and chief executive officer. The company says he brings to SplashData a wealth of software experience from prior executive positions at Mobile Digital Media (MDM), Palm and The Walt Disney Company.
As SplashData’s CEO, Morgan Slain will focus on updating and expanding the company’s line of productivity software. SplashData is best known for its SplashWallet application suite, including SplashID, SplashPhoto, SplashMoney and SplashShopp elops software for major smartphone and PDA platforms – including Palm OS, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Symbian – as well as for Windows and Macintosh desktop platforms.
Mr. Slain is also expected to expand SplashData’s sales effort to corporate IT departments, where SplashID has achieved success as a security solution for password management and protection.
Previously, Mr. Slain was General Manager of retail software publisher MDM, where he formed licensing partnerships with Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Atari, d opment roadmap, and oversaw sales and marketing. MDM was a spinoff from Palm, Inc., where Mr. Slain served as an executive charged with strategic alliances, managing relationships with AOL, Yahoo, Excite and NTT DoCoMo.
Prior to joining Palm, Mr. Slain spent nearly eight years in a series of roles at The Walt Disney Company, culminating with his appointment as Vice President of New Media & Business Development.
