SoftBank to Leverage Vodafone Japan Network with Yahoo! Japan Content

Soon after the SoftBank Corp. agreed to acquire the assets of Vodafone K.K, the Japanese holding company announced plans to become an integrated telecommunications service provider, offering both fixed-line and mobile communications over 26 million service lines.
The new venture will generate an annual revenue of approximately 2.5 trillion yen (US$21 billion) on a consolidated basis.
SoftBank has also announced a business alliance with Yahoo! Japan (of which the SoftBank is a major shareholder) to offers a variety of services through its portal site to a large customer base.
Yahoo! Japan will provide a portal site for mobile terminals offering comprehensive services and content. This will enable a seamless environment between PC and mobile users, through which SoftBank plans to provide new services.
