Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. will be demonstrating Soleus, a feature phone development platform, during the CTIA Wireless 2006.
Soleus is a turnkey software solution based on Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 that leverages Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 development tools to offer mobile phone manufacturers a cost-effective and feature-rich handset design options.
Soleus, which officially launched at the 3GSM World Congress in February 2006, is the latest addition to Intrinsyc's line of wireless and embedded software products.
The company says Soleus is the first Windows CE-based software platform for feature phones and the first implementation of Visual Studio specifically for feature phone development, offering a new approach to developing phones, providing a set of modular software components that can be deployed across multiple handset designs.
The tools that plug into Visual Studio are the Soleus User Interface (UI) Framework and the Soleus UX Designer plug-in for Visual Studio. This framework provides wireless operators, original device manufacturers (ODMs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with full control over the customization and branding of the mobile handset experience.
Soleus UX Designer extends the Visual Studio tool specifically for Soleus feature phone development, integrating all the necessary elements of a feature phone user interface such as soft keys, status indicators, wall paper and many more. As Visual Studio is the world's leading application development tool, its familiarity to millions of developers enables a simpler way to create software - ultimately reducing the time to market of the end product and lowering development costs.
