Inventop has announced the Beta of BUZZeeBee 2.0, available now for Windows 2000 or XP with Wi-FI or any TCP/IP connection. A Windows Mobile beta version for Pocket PC is coming soon.
The BUZZeeBee software allows users to create a location-based chatroom, with devices joining the chat network when close to other devices. This can be used during meetings, user groups, exhibitions and other social situations.
BUZZeeBee allows users to send messages to people who share common interest, while in the same proximity location.
To send a message, users need the software installed on their PC or Pocket PC, and subscribe to groups of your interest. Users can also create their own group. Every message stays alive 24h so the information is relevant and each group will disappear after 7 days. It's anonymous until you decide to share your business card, configured on the software.
Businesses can purchase a special version for US$39/month, allowing them to create shopping and interest groups. This way business can provide interest-related groups, including special chats, offers, coupons. This version acts as a server and can be used in stores, cafes, airports, etc.
Individual devices will act as repeater so it extends and spread the network further than the limitation of Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and it will reach even more people. For example, if you received a lunch special from your favorite restaurant, the message will be forwarded to your colleagues once you are back in your office.
