Microsoft Releases ActiveSync 4.2 Beta for Windows Mobile
Posted on 27-Apr-2006 21:36 | Tags Filed under: News

Microsoft ActiveSync 4.2 addresses known issues related to Microsoft Outlook synchronization and Desktop PassThrough (DTPT). Specifically this beta addresses the 85010014 error while trying to sync with Microsoft Outlook.

Microsoft ActiveSync 4.2 will also provide an improved user experience for users that are experiencing USB connectivity issues. This beta release provides the first step by prompting the user when a connectivity issue may exist. Future releases will continue to improve the overall experience.

Several communication channels have been setup to allow the beta users to provide feedback to Microsoft. The two main channels are an email alias and the creation of a new newsgroup. The email alias is ASTell@microsoft.com and the newsgroup will be microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync.beta.
